The reason for performing this step, is because consumers like options. It is a good practice to get into while making recommendations on your landing pages, or posts to your blog, to give the customer choices (minimum of two) and provide comparison charts so that you can build the customer's trust. You want to present your material as if you are an expert, and by doing the necessary research, an affiliate can provide detailed information comparing two different products in a manner that provides the customer with options.
As an example, let say hypothetically that you selected LawyersGuide as a product to promote while you were performing Step 2. By having the aforementioned Affiliate Network partners you can easily find other merchants that offer comparable services to LawyersGuide.
Log into your Shareasale Account and under Find/Join Merchants, select View and Search Merchant List.
 You will need to perform an advanced search and change the dropdown menu for All Categories to Legal. You will see that Shareasale has returned 6 other merchants in the Legal Segment that offers services similar or related to what LawyersGuide provides.
Use this information to your advantage, by reviewing what services are offered by the other clients, and then document your results in a comparison chart. Things to consider:
- Cost of Services
- Type of Services
- Type of Support (e-mail, phone)
